After arriving in Broome, I spent 3 months with Paspaley Pearls on a Pearling vessel, cruising to pearl farms and being involved in the entire pearl harvest process. Afterward, I returned to office work and spent 8 years working for Broome Pearls and Arrow Pearls.

The pearling industry also values sustainability—nothing is wasted. The pearl is the main product, but the shell (Pinctada Maxima) and the pearl meat are also used, and natural Keshi pearls can be found during harvest. Many of my designs are inspired by the Kimberley’s beauty, from Boab trees to local wildlife and of course the stunning Staircase to the Moon.

For the past 20+ years, I have loved trading at the vibrant Broome Markets, weekends at the courthouse and at the Town Beach Markets night markets during the season.
